Who Am I?
Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, I moved to the US in 2002 to attend college.
I received my BFA in Digital Art in 2006 and have since been working primarily as a freelance graphic designer. While in college, I studied drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, art history, and beginning 3D animation, to name a few. As a graphic designer, I worked with individuals and small- to medium-sized businesses/ non-profit organizations, and designed album artwork, brand identity/promotional material (business cards, flyers, websites, brochures), and magazine layouts.
I discovered my passion for teaching art in 2014 while working as an art instructor with an after school program. As a result, I made the decision to pursue a teaching certificate (through Valencia College's alternate teaching certification program, or the Educator Preparation Institute).
I am currently a certified K-12 art teacher, working at a charter school in Central Florida.
